Meet Mike 

My friend Mike once had a great dog he found on the streets of NY,  Clifford. 

[ no, this is not the big red dog  that was six stories tall.]

Instead, this thing was a hell of a fight, like a rocky 

This Dog protected Mike from all sorts of dog attacks in NY 

( Highly common, by the way.) 

All was going well for a long time. 

I visited Mike's small apartment a few blocks from a local ice cream parlor. 

With a few steaks  that I got from the local butcher that I fed to Clifford 

He tore through those steaks, by the way.

He is one of the best dogs I've seen; he and Mike always had a massive blast together.

Sadly, though…..😓

Something well, I don’t even know if I should write this, but I guess I will

Mike and Clifford are  on their usual run together 

Rocky Balboa style with the music and everything you know? 

On this occasion, as Mikey put it, he got attacked by a group of hounds 

[ Where Mike lived, by the way, Ravid dog attacks were rare but possible.]

In any event, I could never do this justice; if Mike were here, he could explain better.

But long story short, Mike was surrounded by what was at least 6–8 vicious teeth-bearing Hellish dogs. 

Clifford, Instanly, the way Mike put it 

“ Bite the leading dog right in the nose." Suddenly, it was like a scene from a John Wick movie. 

It was 1 V 8 

And Clifford WAS WINNING TO

It was a rough scene, honestly 

Blood was all over the place 

Clifford did end up winning for the most part 

Brutally injuring all of them 

Reminder: Clifford is a dog made out of 80% muscle and 20% super soldier serum. He was a beyond beast 

However, like champions and heroes, Clifford suffered a pretty dire fate 

To keep it short and put it bluntly 

{He died from several bite marks and scratches. 

Mikey was broken down for a while, and all he had was an old, dusty picture frame of him and Clifford. 

And although Mike would go on his runs alone, picture in mind 

But the Bond between him and Clifford never settled, never fixed 

He was never the same…

Well, I mean, until I found this,

Mickey's 28th birthday was around the corner, and of course, being one friend, I wanted to get him 

something to give him the spirit that Clifford gave him. Of course, I could not buy a clone. 

Hell's sake, have you seen their prices?! 

No, 

Instead, I did the second-best thing: I asked Mike to send me a picture of Clifford

At first, he was confused about  why, but I told him it was a surprise 

Post 3 days later, it was mikes birthday; me and weren't out and got some cake 

I had a little ice cream and such 

{ Couple of beers as well, of course—I mean, come, it’s NY } 

In any event, I showed Mike the present I got for him

I could go on and on about what else happened 

But the bottom line is he broke into tears. He wanted to hug me but humbly declined.d
